Interesting read as usual! I find that sometimes I might say I don't feel motivated but that's true of other hobbies too like video games or playing basketball. All fun to do it but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for that particular hobby. So maybe motivated is not the right word because I agree with the sentiment of your post
I've been working in fits and starts lately, due to distractions in another part of life, not lack of ideas. My shot list is long, but my brain just hasn't been in the game. And it's been infuriating, because I love the process, love rolling my sleeves up and losing all sense of time, love editing and captioning and all of it. I find it as meditative as my wife finds building. Happily, the distractions are easing up so the process is firing up!
Thanks for reading, Ryan! I think that's totally normal too. But we're not saying to ourselves "oh, I really need to shoot something because I haven't since last month and people will forget me if I don't post!"
I recently had the realization how much I was feeling pressured by Instagram to regularly post because I saw so many others posting every day or every week. It was a gross feeling because it made lego photography almost feel like a job with a quota I was setting for myself and I was making it more important than other things in life. So I quit caring about that and now when I sit down to build or take a photo, I really enjoy it. I take more time into relishing the process of connecting bricks, setting up the lights, and editing.
Your articles are interesting to the point that one must reflect on them selves for a while. Personally I recognize a few points you're writing about. And after reading the last newsletter I remember the start of my photography journey (almost 1 year ago). The joy, hours of creating, sitting there watching my Lego (in this case) looking for new ideas. That feeling faded a bit over time. Many thanks for your inspiring articles!
PS. Wishing you the best with your Stardew Valley Lego Ideas

Thanks for the compliment! Absolutely agree that not feeling like doing something is not the same as having no reason/motivation to do that thing.
There are a few TV series I really enjoy, but I'm not in the mood to watch-- or binge. But I don't need to motivate myself to do that either.
